Why Coming Back from Vacation Isn’t a Punishment

BACK FROM VACATION AND FEELING LIKE SHIT… READ BELOW!

Coming home after vacation can feel awkward—like Bambi on ice. But let me tell you right now: getting back into your routine is not a punishment.

Your vacation didn’t ruin your body. It didn’t undo years of hard work. Two weeks of cocktails, pasta, and lazy mornings are not enough to “trash” your progress.

Food, Drinks, and Fun Are Fuel

Vacation is for enjoying yourself. The skinny margaritas, the gelato, the extra glasses of wine—they’re part of the experience. And when you return home, you slide right back into your routine. Your kitchen. Your workouts. Your grocery list.

That’s where control lives—at home, not on vacation.

Why Protein Matters on the Road

One thing I noticed: protein is the most overlooked nutrient while traveling. Sure, you can pack protein powder, but it won’t carry you the whole way.

In Greece, I found it easy—gyros, meats, pita, all the macro heaven. But in most places, you need to plan ahead if you want real protein sources. It makes a big difference in how good you feel during and after vacation.

Stop Punishing Yourself

Repeat after me: coming home is not a punishment.

You’ve worked hard—whether in the gym, in your career, or just keeping life together. That work is what made the vacation possible in the first place. So don’t come back panicking about carbs, calories, or “losing progress.”

You earned the trip. You enjoyed the trip. Now you’re back in your rhythm.

Breathe. Reset. And keep moving forward.
